Three Girls and Balance
November 14, 2008
Group Dynamics: Balance: (Some dictionary definitions) A state of equilibrium, harmonious arrangement or relation of parts or elements within a whole; “in all perfectly beautiful objects there is found the opposition of one part to another and a reciprocal balance”- John Ruskin; a stable mental or psychological state; emotional stability.
I am an enthusiastic advocate of this phenomenon. In daily activities, elaborate plans, in thoughts, in dreams, in friendships, in families, in life. A saviour from the intensity of an extreme. It’s why we can walk on two feet, it’s why we can enjoy some things and not others, its why opposites attract.
I have really enjoyed working along side all 3 of the girls throughout the past few months. Everyone has contributed greatly to a very enjoyable experience. I would not call Emily the ”pessimist,” but rather the challenger, challenging the sometimes unlimited positivity of the others. Jo, aka, quality control, aka “lets have a meeting” is the glue that holds us together, her attention to detail is totally admirable. Haley’s ability to make any stray person along the way instantly trust/love her has been an extremely valuable especially considering the amount of people we have met over the past while. I look forward to one more great month in the truck, at the farm, at cheapside market, with John Mel & Peter, in Zion.
